Description

The Factory-Reconditioned Lincoln Electric U2688-2 SP-140T MIG Welder can weld with either solid MIG wire or flux-cored wire for a range and has a 30 to 140 amp DC output for a range of projects. The wire feed supports flux-cored welding on 18 gauge to 3/16" thick steel and solid MIG welding on 24 gauge to 10 gauge steel. It has a precision wire feed system that reduces the chance of wire tangling and crushing. A brass-to-brass gun connection provides enhanced conductivity. The circuit board is sealed for protection from the environment and sits in a rigid plastic tray for shock resistance. The welder has a 20% duty cycle at 90 amps that allows it to run 2 minutes out of each 10-minute period without overheating. It welder comes with a welding gun and cable, flux-cored wire, solid MIG wire, gasless nozzle, gas nozzle, gas regulator and hose, adapter, contact tips, drive rolls, and instructional DVD.

Welders join two or more pieces of metal to form one solid piece by simultaneously applying heat to soften them and applying pressure to connect them. Stick welders, also known as arc welders, use an electrified arc that flows between a welding stick and the metal to join the pieces. Wire-fed welders use an electrified wire spool that is fed at a constant speed between the pieces of metal to join them.

Lincoln Electric manufactures welders and welding supplies, including the Century brand. The company, founded in 1895, is headquartered in Cleveland, OH.
