Samson Fids are used in Splicing Rope - Because different ropes vary in size even if they state they are a certain diameter, they can be undersized. In our splicing, we often use one size smaller fid than the rope diameter. For example, for 1/2" rope we would use a 7/16" Fid.Various sizes available: 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8" and 1"
Pushers are also available to help with splicing, both large and small pushers
Small pushers are used with Fids 1/4" to 1/2"
Large pushers are used with Fids 9/16" to 1"
